The charming Butte aux Cailles district

We suggest a one-and-a-half to two-hour stroll through the picturesque Butte aux Cailles district, which we highly recommend you discover on your trip to Paris.

The district resembles a village, with few buildings exceeding two storeys, as it was built outside the Haussmannian principles that profoundly changed the face of Paris in the 20th century.

Your starting point will be Métro Corvisart. You’ll pass by Place Paul Verlaine, in front of the famous Butte aux Cailles swimming pool. If you like swimming, consider a dip, as the experience is well worth the detour.

At the pool, we attended Alessandro Sciarroni’s show “Iris” on 15/9/2023.

You’ll then walk towards the square des Peupliers.

Continue towards Place de Rungis, then Cité Florale.

You can then head back to rue de la Butte aux Cailles, where you’ll have had a well-deserved break to quench your thirst in one of the street’s cafés.
